Barry E. Morgan
Solicitor General
Cobb County State Court

Barry E. Morgan is a native of Cobb County Georgia, having graduated from North Cobb High School in 1972. Barry received his Bachelor of Music Education from Georgia State University in 1976. In 1987, Barry graduated Summa Cum Laude from the John Marshall Law School in Atlanta. From 1988 until 1992, Barry served as an Assistant District Attorney prosecuting narcotics and organized crime cases. Barry was the Chief Assistant Solicitor General for Cobb State Court from 1992 until 1998. On March 4, 1998, Governor Zell Miller appointed Barry as the Solicitor General for Cobb County, and he has been elected to that position three times.


Barry has served the Community on several civic and charitable associations including the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and the Acworth, Kennesaw and South Cobb Business Associations. In 2008, Barry began his second, four year term as a member of the Prosecuting Attorneys Council of Georgia, and currently serves that body as Vice-Chair.


Barry is married to the former Sara Morrison. They have two sons and reside in Kennesaw.
